Finding Your Fit: Open or Closed Eartips Explained

Dear Atlas,

I see there are the options of open and closed eartips. What is the difference or benefits ?

ree

When it comes to over-the-counter hearing aids, even small details, such as eartips, can significantly impact how you hear and how comfortable you feel. Choosing the right style helps you Listen with Confidence every day.

Open eartips  provide more physical comfort, allowing airflow and natural sounds into the ear canal via the vents in the design. These eartips allow for a seamless fit.

Closed eartips have no vents and provide a tighter seal in the ear canal, boosting lower-frequency sounds.  Because of the seal on the ear canal, this may lead to a plugged feeling with continued use, as well as more earwax generation.

Most importantly, you must select the appropriate size of the eartip - S, M, or L - for a snug fit that prevents damage to the eardrum and whistling.

Warmly,
